Abstract

This research develops from the understanding of the problems caused with the removal of riparian forest, the municipality of Pombal, which is bathed in the Pianco, in view of the anthropological practices exercised on riparian forests. Taking into account the Brazilian Federal Forest Code, Law No. 12,651 of May 25, 2012, which defines such vegetal formation as "area of permanent preservation (APP) ", with different environmental functions, one must respect a specific extension according to the width of rivers, conegos, lakes, dams and springs. Using the dialectical method, we sought to analyze through observations, dynamically interpret the reality of these practices that damage the environment environment and society. Therefore, it was considered important to carry out this research with the in order to know why this area is being deforested, as well as to describe the importance of riparian forests in the environmental balance of the municipality.
