A importância do uso das cisternas de placa no Cariri Ocidental da Paraíba: um estudo de caso na comunidade Tingui.

Abstract

This work shows the importance of the interrelationship between social technologies Hydro coexistence in semiarid region, where tanks, control access to water and farming family in the PB. The Tinguin site community semi-arid region characterized by spatio-temporal variability of rainfall. Periodic droughts become vulnerable water systems, with strong negative impact on thousands of families. The storage of rainwater tanks is an alternative supply to mitigate the effects of drought. This study aimed to know the conditions of maintenance and management systems to capture rainwater already installed, analyzing the importance of the tank on the control and access to water by households sittest oriented sustainable use. This is a reality supported by the alleged unfeasibility of this region, supposedly because the Brazilian semi-arid has been building a new reality, showing that just as it is possible to live on ice is possible to live in semi-arid and arid regions, and this depends on strategies of coexistence with these regions, which contribute to overcoming this challenge, because in this understanding the drought is no longer a problem and becomes a challenge, which can be overcome by using adequate public policies that will facilitate life in the 'sertão'.
