dc.description.resumoA precipitação é uma variável meteorológica muito importante no tocante à agricultura, podendo determinar o tipo de atividade agrícola de uma dada região. No Brasil, de um modo geral, os projetos de irrigação são dimensionados sem levar em consideração a precipitação natural, levando a dimensionamentos que podem ser desnecessários. Este trabalho teve como objetivos estimar a precipitação quinzenal provável, a uma probabilidade de 75% de ocorrência, para o município de Jequié-BA, utilizando a distribuição Gama, e determinar os parâmetros da mesma para cada quinzena analisada. A distribuição Gama teve uma boa adequação aos dados quinzenais de precipitação, de acordo com o teste qui-quadrado. Os parâmetros gerados para a distribuição Gama permite ao projetista estimar a precipitação quinzenal mínima para diferentes probabilidades de ocorrência. Diante dos dados gerados pôde-se concluir que a precipitação quinzenal mínima de Jequié-BA variou entre 0,20 e 13,20 mm, sendo possível a adoção de irrigação suplementar, reduzindo o porte de sistemas de irrigação (consumo de energia) e podendo aumentar a lucratividade.pt_BR

dc.description.abstractThe rainfall is an important meteorological variable for agriculture, it can determine the type of agricultural activity of one region. In Brazil, as a general rule, the irrigation systems are designed without taking natural rainfall into consideration, leading to design that can be unnecessary. This work had as objectives to estimate the probable biweekly rainfall, to a probability of occurrence of 75%, for Jequié-BA, using the Gama distribution, and to determine the parameters of this distribution for each analyzed fortnight. The Gama distribution had a good fit to the biweekly rainfall data, in accordance to the chi-square test. The parameters which were estimated for the Gama distribution allow the user to estimate the minimum biweekly rainfall for different probabilities of occurrence. With the generated data it was possible to conclude that the minimum biweekly rainfall for Jequié-BA ranged from 0.20 to 13.20 mm, being possible the adoption of supplemental irrigation, reducing the size of irrigation systems (energy consumption) and being able to increase the profitability.pt_BR
