Níveis e frequências de irrigação na distribuição e quantidade de raízes produzida pelo capim-tanzânia.

Abstract

The aim of this work was to study the effect of different irrigation nets and irrigation interval the distribution and amount of root produced for the on Panicum maximum Jacq. cv Tanzania. The experiment was carried out under greenhouse conditions where drums were filled out with soil and cultivated with grass. The irrigations were performed with a irrigation interval of 1, 4 and 7 days, in order to reestablish soil water content to 50, 75 and 100% of the total available water in the soil. The distribution was gotten by sampling in two points of the transversal section and in seven depths. The amount of root dry matter (RDM) produced by the grass was obtained by the sum of the samples taken in the entire container. According to the results, the density of RDM in the surface part of the soil was bigger for low irrigation nets and irrigation interval. The irrigation didn’t affect the amount of RDM produced, which was affected only by its distribution on the soil.
