Efeito de níveis de cobertura do solo sobre o manejo da irrigação do feijoeiro (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), no sistema plantio direto.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the effects of mulch on the irrigation management of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), under no tillage system. The treatments were different levels of mulch from grass straw (Brachiaria decumbens). The experiment design was randomized block with five treatments and four replications. The treatments were five straw mulch rates: 0% (0 t/ha), 25% (2,25 t/ha), 50% (4,50 t/ha), 75% (6,75 t/ha), 100% (9,0 t/ha).The experiment was conducted at the Experiment Station of Embrapa Arroz e Feijão ( Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária Arroz e Feijão) at Santo Antônio de Goiás, Brazil, the soil type was a clayey Dark-Red Latosol, and the experiment was in the field from June to September, 1994.The yield was studied .The statistical analysis shown a decreasing in irrigation number and increasing in irrigation interval when the mulch were superior to a 50%. The mulch shown be more efficient than the nude soil to save water.
