| ???metadata.dc.description.resumo???: | A cobertura vegetal exerce papel imprescindível à proteção e conservação dos recursos naturais, principalmente no que diz respeito aos solos, e sua presença ou ausência influencia nas características do regime de escoamento superficial. O presente estudo objetivou avaliar as características hidráulicas de um solo na presença e na ausência de cobertura vegetal, utilizando-se um simulador de chuvas. Os resultados mostraram que a caatinga proporcionou uma redução de 49,22% no escoamento superficial em relação àquele gerado na ausência de cobertura, ressaltando a importância da cobertura vegetal no controle do processo erosivo e enchentes. |
| Abstract: | The vegetation cover is indispensable for the protection and conservation of natural resources, mainly the soils, and its presence or absence influences the runoff regime characteristics. The aim of this study is to evaluate the soil hydraulic characteristics with and without vegetation cover, using a rainfall simulator. The results pointed out that the area with caatinga vegetation provided a reduction of 49,22% in the runoff, when compared to that produced without cover, emphasizing the importance of the vegetation cover as a way to control the erosive process and flooding. |
