Abstract

The expanding acreage of cassava crops in the northwest of the Paraná State, in Brazil has been facing the production of large volumes of effluents from the industrial plants offending Federal Acts protecting the freshwater resources. Looking for a solution, this experiment carried out in field plots of the Campus do Arenito, located at 23°22'30'' SL, 52°56'00” WL and altitute of 404 m, in the Cidade Gaúcha county, Paraná State, in Brazil, investigated the performance of some components of corn production under different levels of the cassava industrial effluents topdressing applied, using a 20L plastic drench, in four replicates under a random block design. The application of 0, 150, 300, 450 e 600 m³ha-1 of effluents indicated not significant effects on the foliar area, on the distance between the ground level and the attachment node of the first ear, plant height and corn stalk diameter.
