dc.description.resumoRESUMO: O estudo foi realizado com o objetivo de avaliar a distribuição vertical da água, num solo, de uma área do Campo Experimental do CEULP/ULBRA-TO, visando a possível utilização da subirrigação na área. Para representar a área do solo em estudo foi coletado um perfil do solo, e para a simulação de lençol freático utilizou-se um Modelo Hidrológico. A ascensão capilar da água foi obtida através da distribuição da umidade ao longo do perfil do solo, utilizando-se diferentes níveis da água na amostra, e através de equação, que caracteriza a ascensão capilar levando-se em consideração a porosidade e textura do solo. Os resultados obtidos mostram que para esse solo a ascensão capilar da água é de 21 cm, devendo o sistema radicular estar localizado a esta altura acima do lencol.pt_BR

dc.description.abstractABSTRACT: The main objective of this study was to assess the vertical distribution of water through a soil from the Lutheran University Center of Palmas Experimental Field aiming the possible use of sub-irrigation in the area. To represent the study area a sample of soil was collected and to simulate the water table an Hydrological Physical Model was used. Capillary action of water was produced after moisture distribution along the soil s profile using different levels of water on the sample, through a mathematical model that quantifies capillary action as a function of soil porosity and texture. The results show that for this soil capillary action exists within a 21 cm height, so the rooting system shall be at most this distance from the water table.pt_BR
