Alterações nas características físicas de um cambissolo háplico típico cultivado com melão.

Abstract

The work objectified to evaluate alterations in the physical characteristics in a Typic Haplocambids, cultivated with melon, in function of the culture time. The election of the areas was made taking in consideration four times of use, being an area of virgin bush and areas with one, two and three years of culture. In each area, the collection of the soil samples was carried through in 3 points, in 2 depths (0-20 and 20-40 cm). Had been determined texture, particles density, bulk density, porosity and aggregate stability. The data had been submitted to the variance analysis, considering a factorial 4 x 2 (4 times of use and 2 depths), with 3 repetitions. The results had demonstrated that in function of the time, the culture practical had significantly improved the bulk density and provoked reduction of the average size of steady aggregates in water.
