| ???metadata.dc.description.resumo???: | O objetivo do trabalho foi estudar o uso de substâncias acidificadoras no controle da alcalinidade de solo calcário irrigado com águas ricas em bicarbonato de cálcio no crescimento do meloeiro. O delineamento utilizado foi de blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 4 x 3 x 2 + 2, com três repetições. Os tratamentos constaram de água de irrigação com três doses de produto acidificante (Lower 7) para baixar o pH em 7,0, 6,0, 5,0 e sem acidificação, três frequências de aplicação (diária, uma e duas vezes por semana) e dois solos. Adicionalmente foi utilizado ácido nítrico duas vezes por semana para baixar o pH para 6,0. A frequência de irrigação intermediária (duas vezes por semana) com a manutenção do pH da água de irrigação em 6,0, tanto pela utilização de Lower 7 como do ácido nítrico foi a que proporcionou melhor resposta da cultura até os 28 dias |
| Abstract: | The objective of the work was to evaluate growth of melon irrigated with water rich in calcium bicarbonate when water alkalinity was controlled using acidificant substances. Experimental design was randomized blocks in factorial outline 4 x 3 x 2 + 2, with three replications. Factors studied were three doses of a acidificant product (Lower 7) which lowered water pH to 7.0, 6.0, 5.0, and the control without acidificant; three irrigation frequencies (daily, weekly and twice a week) and two soil types. Additionally, nitric acid was used twice a week to lower the pH to 6,0. The intermediate irrigation frequency (twice a week) with the maintenance of a water pH of 6.0, both using “Lower 7” or nitric acid, provided the better response of the culture until 28 days after planting |
