dc.description.resumoRESUMO: O objetivo desta pesquisa foi estudar as condições térmicas ambientais, com dois sistemas de acondicionamento térmico, em instalações para suínos em crescimento e terminação, no verão, utilizando-se os seguintes tratamentos: 1) ala do galpão dotado de lanternim com dupla abertura lateral (CL) e 2) ala do galpão sem lanternim (SL). O delineamento experimental usado foi o inteiramente causalizado em esquema fatorial 2x9 (dois tratamentos e nove horários), com onze repetições por tratamento. Foram utilizadas 336 fêmeas suínas, cruzadas (Landrace x Large White), distribuídas aleatoriamente entre as 24 baias monitoradas no galpão. O índice de temperatura de globo e umidade (ITGU), a carga térmica radiante (CTR) e a umidade relativa do ar (UR) foram estimados. Os tratamentos CL e SL proporcionaram ambientes termicamente semelhantes. Logo a construção de lanternim, em galpões pré-existentes, para suínos em crescimento e terminação, não foi capaz de proporcionar um ambiente mais ventilado, e portanto mais adequado aos animais durante o verão.pt_BR

dc.description.abstractThe aim of this work was to study the environmental thermal conditions in two different systems of thermal conditioning for swine housing in growth and finishing periods. The following treatments were used: room with chimney (WC) and room without modification (no chimney) (NC). A completely randomized experimental design was used in factorial 2 x 9 (two treatments and nine schedules) with eleven repetions for each treatment. Three hundred and thirty six crossed gilts (Landrace x Large White) were used. The gilts were distributed among 24 stalls wich were monitored. In this study the global temperature and humidity index (GTHI), radiant thermal load (RTL), and relative air humidity (RU) were estimated. The treatments WC and NC provided similar environmental thermal. Therefore the chiminey construction in old building for growth and finishing pig was not able to provide environmental more ventilated and more appropriate to the animals in Summer.pt_BR
