dc.description.resumoO conhecimento das propriedades físicas dos grãos é necessário para o dimensionamento de máquinas e equipamentos. Dessa forma, este trabalho visou o estudo das propriedades físicas dos grãos de girassol (Helianthus annus L.) em diferentes teores de água. Foram analisadas duas variedades de girassol: Multissol e Nutrissol e o cultivar M734. Os grãos de girassol foram reumedecidos até atingirem os teores de água de 20, 18, 16 e 14 % b.u. e, logo após, foram determinadas o tamanho e a forma, massa específica aparente e massa de mil grãos. Concluiu-se que: 1. Ocorreu decréscimo nas dimensões (comprimento, largura, espessura) dos grãos de girassol com a redução do teor de água; 2. A massa específica aparente é inversamente proporcional ao teor de água; 3. A esfericidade e a massa de mil grãos é diretamente proporcional ao teor de águapt_BR

dc.description.abstractThe knowledge of the physical properties of the grains is necessary for the sizing of machines and equipment. Of this form, this work aimed at the study of the physical properties of the sunflower grains (Helianthus annus L.) in different moisture contents. Two varieties of sunflower had been analyzed: Multissol and Nutrissol and cultivating M734. The sunflower grains had been humidify until reaching moisture contents of 20, 18, 16 and 14 % b.u. and, then after, had been determined the size and the form, bulk desity and mass of a thousand grains. One concluded that: 1. Decrease in the dimensions (length, width, thickness) of the grains of sunflower with the reduction of the moisture contents occurred; 2. The bulk density is inversely proportional to the moisture contents; 3. The sphericity and the mass of a thousand grains are directly proportional to the moisture contents.pt_BR
