dc.description.resumoO trabalho objetiva avaliar a viabilidade econômica de produção do café (Coffea arabica) irrigado sob pivô central, comparando dados de custos do irrigado (depreciação, energia elétrica, mão-de-obra e manutenção), bem como seu lucro líquido e bruto, com os do não-irrigado, no município de Ituaçú - BA, região de Vitória da Conquista. O pivô, marca ASBRASIL, de 46,56 hectares e com lâmina de 4,82 mm (20 horas), será utilizado na época de granação dos frutos. Analisando-se os resultados obtidos, observou-se que quanto maiores forem os custos com a irrigação maiores devem ser os incrementos na produção para justificá-la, além do que não se pode generalizar qual é o aumento de produção necessário para se viabilizar a irrigação do cafeeiro. É preciso estudar caso a caso, pois existem situações beneficiadas e outras não.pt_BR

dc.description.abstractThis paper objective is to estimate the economic feasibility of coffee growing (Coffea arabica) irrigated by center pivot system comparing total production cost of the irrigated cultivation (depreciation, electrical energy, labor and maintenance), its net profit and unabridged gain to the dry cultivation, at Ituaçu county, BA, in the district of Vitória da Conquista. The trade mark of the center pivot system is ASBRASIL, which irrigates 46,56 hectares (115.050 acres) and applies 4,82 mm of water in the time space of 20 hours. It will be used at the emergence of the grains.Analyzing the obtained results we conclued that the higher the irrigation cost per unit of area, the higher should be the production increase to pay back the investment. Besides we can’t generalize which is the increase of the production to permit the irrigation of the cultivation.pt_BR
