"Cada planta tem um caboclo, cada caboclo tem uma planta": (etnocartografia sobre as práticas de saúde do povo indígena Tabajara do litoral Sul da Paraíba)

Abstract

I intend here to discuss the relationship that the Tabajara people establish with plants as part of the health care itinerary, and the possible health care arrangements within the Tabajara indigenous territory. This dissertation consists in highlighting the multiple spheres and dimensions involved in the process of establishing health, reflecting on how the agencies of local health care work, based on the cosmovision of the Tabajara people and their eventual unfolding in terms of meanings, narratives, organization political and social, singularities and specific knowledge rooted in tradition, which are daily given and re-signified based on local practices and knowledge, which are always in the process of being made. Creating and putting into circulation powerful meanings and strategies for survival and transmission of their actions and knowledge, which continually produce and elaborate values, narratives and ways of life. This dissertation also results in an audiovisual documentary about the group of indigenous women, MOARA, from the Barra de Gramame village.
