Abstract

The advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is redefining the boundaries of contemporary medicine, offering new possibilities and challenges. This paper aims to analyze the present and future impacts of AI on medical practice, highlighting its transformative influence. By defining AI as the ability of computer systems to perform tasks that require human intelligence, we explore how these technologies are being successfully applied in medicine, from more accurate diagnoses to the development of personalized therapies. Throughout this study, we will demonstrate that, although AI brings significant benefits to medical practice, it will not completely replace the role of physicians, mainly due to the lack of inherently human feelings. Using a variety of sources, and analyzing the impact of artificial intelligence in different sectors of medicine, we will provide a balanced analysis to seek to understand how AI is shaping the present and future of medicine. In this way, this paper seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of the implications of AI in healthcare and provide valuable insights for professionals and researchers interested in this rapidly evolving field.
